I'll start it off by saying my 30-year-old, 92' Honda TRX 300 is still kicking with no operational issues whatsoever. All the plastic is still in good shape and barely faded. I honestly don't remember what year I bought it from its second owner.

44 years old and just one year after I graduated from high school. Not sure anyone will beat that.

Lotta jeeps out there older than 78. My Toyota is 88.
It’s really more of a back up to my main hunting truck. I use it when muddy or if other is down.

My oldest is a 92 Sammy but it rarely gets used, I’m partial to newer machines.

This ‘68 was a hunting rig when I acquired it back in ‘97, and even after a frame off resto in ‘03. Repainted and retired in ‘09.

Rarely, not never. Bought new jeans last week(evidently Wrangler no longer makes carpenter jeans). Just this moment picked up “reconditioned” boots from The Man.
Can’t handle being ridiculed by Hud. However, rather it be for old stuff than being a poser.

We (the family) had a '66 Bronco that was very a limited edition. Lots of great memories in it. I got off the lease that my brother was on and heard that it wasn't running and no one was paying attention to it. As soon as I slightly hinted that I could get it and trade out with my brother to make it fair, he said his daughter and her husband wanted it, which was complete bull excrement. Another guy on the lease, that I still consider a friend, wound up with it and I got to see it a few years ago. It's good to know she's well taken care of. 'Course, I never saw a dime from that vehicle or the '64 Chevy pickup I drove to high school, or a lot of other family things...but I digress.

I can see you styling in the McDonalds parking lot at the corner of Blanco and West Avenue.

Creek, I know about those 64's in High School. My friend had a 64 or 65 that he still has and I think he added another. Mine was a black 63 custom cab that made many the trips down the drag in Georgetown, through the DQ, down to Dairy Hill, through San Gabriel Park and SouthWestern. Many trips out to "The Booties". Dad said for graduation he would buy me a new, or newer, ride or he would pay to fix up the truck. I went for the 283, rolled and pleated interior, mag wheels and an 8 track. Already had a tool box I made in Ag shop that just happened to fit an igloo cooler inside. A case of Schlitz fit in the cooler. Man, when I took off in it for Tarleton that year was the then highlight of my life. Then she got pregnant, Dad died, and my life forever changed. No complaints, no regrets, but the truck was sold and bought a 64 Impala. Good car.

Free - This song's for you.

Hud - I got detention for taking my girlfriend (that became wife #1) up to that McDonald's. The assistant principal was handing out detention slips as you pulled back into the lot. Slimy SOB. 'Went on to become superintendent. Somehow, the state 5A (there was no 6A) championship football team, that was up there with us, didn't get detention. confused2

Seeing those old Jeeps reminded me of the old IH Scouts that my FIL and my wife’s uncle had when I was dating her. They were both 60’s models with hard tops they never even considered taking off. I have very found memories of those vacuum-driven windshield wipers with their varied rate of wiping across the windshield. They would slow considerably going up those Mississippi hills and run much faster on the downhill side. The sheet metal on those things had to be an eighth of an inch thick. Great times for sure.

And not once do I ever remember those things getting stuck in that Mississippi red clay.

It can be a challenge! I also have a 71 Bronco with a factory half cab, can't believe I don't have pics on this computer or phone! Built 302 with flat top pistons, 289 close chamber heads and 351 Windsor valves, roller rockers, Isky split duration torquer cam with double valve springs, windage tray, NP435 transmission. Changing intake and 4 barrel to 5.0L HO fuel injection...2" body lift and 2" suspension lift.
BTW tires on the Jeep are foam filled...

Had this guy until it got wrecked. Early 60's (I think) with an aftermarket bullet proof body and a few other add-ons.

1951 Willys CJ3A. But I can't be in the running since it's not running right now (or for a while) It's a little down on the priority list for a complete restoration. Built the year I was born, so it has a little sentimental background. I have had several older CJ2A's, but I was always willing to trade up or out of them.
