Guy that works for me, his wife is Mexican and one of the best cooks. I typically give him a deer and a couple pigs each year. I skin them and quarter and I include the straps. His church does a couple feedings downtown for the homeless and they use the meat . This time they decided to take one of the pigs and make tamales. He brought me a couple bags , turned out fantastic.

He says, for the rest of our lives I will give you half of everything she makes if you bring me at least one big pig a year. I told him he has a deal but I don’t need half, wife and I won’t eat that much. Pretty cool deal though . Good people, hearts of gold.

Take them, sell them and donate the money back to his church. I know I'd buy a few dozen if it were possible.

If they’re good tamales, I’d likely buy 10 dozen off you, OP.

Mmmm ... tamales!!!

my dad knew an old Mexican lady that lived in town that we would take deer and hogs to and she would make tamales on the halves ... some of the best I have ever eaten.

wish I could find someone like that around where I live, I would keep them busy year around.

I worked with a girl who didn't speak a lick of English so we had a translator set it up. I'd bring her about 50 or so lbs of pork, she'd make tamales and sell them to everyone in the plant. I'd get 2 dozen free and she kept the money. Her pos husband left her with 2 kids and she needed it. Good trade. That's about all I miss about that job.

Worked in a plant and one of the cleaning lady's made tamales to make money on the side. One of the guy's ordered 6 dozen from her and the next week she had them for him.

Should have seen the look on his face when he opened them up and they were wrapped in banana leaves. She was from Cuba, not Mexico.
