Walking my property in Southeastern Kimble County on Friday, and really scuffed up the Chippewa snake boots on the limestone rocks.
I sure would appreciate your recommendations for a good boot leather conditioner.

Their boot conditioner works great!

Used to use noting other than saddle soap and mink oil, but now rely on the synthetic stuff you can buy at every rodeo venue. That stuff is the bomb.

I typically use saddle soap and mink oil too. But it looks like thise boots have been dyed and coated with a topcoat that has been scuffed off. Saddle soap and oil won't bring that back.

Saddle soap first, then brown Kiwi polish.

It may take several applications but, it should restore the leather.

Yeah, will do and if I remember this evening. I used to laugh at the stuff and found I was way wrong.

Polishing work boots? WTH? Lubricate them to protect them, keep the overall appearance the same and make it seem like they have actually been used.

I’m with Hudbone. My work boots are never going to be pretty. I use Mink Oil, and plenty of it, for waterproofing.

What I started using on saddle and boots. Since there are no mor mink farms in the US. I’m sure it’s imported from C but it seems like high quality

I’ve got some expensive mountain boots that I’ve learned hard way with, let them get to dry and they split

I did 3 coats now. I set it in a warm spot in the kitchen and let it soften up a little before applying the last coat. I like that it didn't shine them up, just brought them back to life. These boots fit great and I plan to have them forever.

I did my saddle last week. It needed it badly. It soaked it up well. I left the tin in sun for a few hours. I didn’t think of suvie’ing it

If they are dry I do a coat of nests foot oil first to soften the leather back up and then mink oil. After you have the mink oil applied hit a them with the wife’s hair dryer and the mink oil will penetrate the leather.

I stopped using neats because I felt it ate the stitching on my saddle but that could very well been in my head.

FWIW, during my baseball career it was common practice to condition our catcher's mitt's with plain 'ol vaseline. Catcher's mitt's took a beating, as we'd go through a couple of them during a 160 game season. Vaseline treatment worked as good or better than anything else we tried, including Lexol and Neats.

JG, was that just your team or was that common across baseball? I’m curious cause my Grandson is a catcher in his freshman year of HS.

Pretty much standard for everywhere we played at that time. Not sure if it is today, but it works very well.
