I use OnX all the time. I would call it "challenging" beyond the level of giving you a general idea of property lines. I own two pieces of property in Montague County and I laugh when I look at them. I am shown as the owner of part of each one. The place to the south has another owner listed for part of the property. The place to the north has two additional owners listed for parts of the property. On top of that, all of the ownership outlines fail to match the actual property outline. On some of the properties I hunt, the accuracy is pretty good. On some, I think it has added or subtracted considerable acreage.

I posted the video on here and a member of this forum was the one who called. It is a guy that has made negative comments on several of my posts. His name came out in court as he did not remain anonymous, so the warden had to say who it was. I will Not mention the name, but not surprised on who it was. Maybe they did not realize I had 2 counties on my property.

Court transcripts are public record. That’s how the name will come out. Plus it sounds like an interesting read. Won’t be difficult to find in Lampasas County court records.

That’s why I’m not releasing the name of the guy who called. I am assuming he did not know the county line ran down my property. Although I did state that in the original post, but maybe he missed that. I don’t know.

GW's are typically the most eager to cite of any TX LE in my experience

I remember when I beat one of their tickets in court myself

I hope you release the name of the chkinchit that called the warden on you.

TXGW’s patrol this pretty regularly, I bet they get atleast 2-4 infractions a year of this board and no telling how many of Facebook, instragram etc.

If they ask for your IP address, they will get your IP address. From there it’s pretty simple reverse lookup using their programs

This sounds like a case of someone on THF playing junior warden on JT and phoning it in. Surprised TPWD would even respond to such a claim honestly.

Maybe, The Game Warden’s have their own section here, outside public view.

They are very very active on THF. Couple even post on here frequently.

We started a GW's private forum on here years ago, but it has really never been used by them. The last post moved down there was someone posting a photo of a timber rattlesnake they killed in June of 2019 (just an FYI, I think timber rattlers were removed from the protected list in 2020). To my knowledge, we have also never been contacted by a GW requesting a member's IP address. We have however shared IPs numerous times related to sales gone bad in the classifieds.

Anyway, glad this situation worked out and really sad that one of the members caused these problems.

Good on you JT showing some thick skin. Know I've given you some constructive criticism before and feel you've taken some to heart. Have to respect a guy willing to make improvements.

Dude I deserved so much of that criticism when I first started. I look back now on my ATN days and before and look at some of my content and holy crap some was so bad!

Thanks again for your feedback!

That's insane. How do people have so little going on in their lives that they act like that?

How do they handle the meat in situations like this?

You won’t have to release the name. We know your last name since you are in the media. All anyone has to do is find the Trousdale case number and acquire the complete court transcript. I’m going to do it when I get the chance because such things are interesting. But I would never post a name. Nevertheless it will be an interesting read.

Keep on producing content. Happy it worked out for you.

Yes I started with the court clerk. But it’s not as easy as maybe I made it sound. Unless sealed it’s public information. You just have follow the instructions provided by the clerk.

Lampasas County for example has their county and district court dockets online.

https://www.co.lampasas.tx.us/page/lampasas.CountyCourtDockets

Burnet County has similar.

Please educate us.

It's not going to be in County Criminal Court (Class B - Class A Misdemeanor) or District Court (Felony Criminal) it will have been in a JP Court. That link is to County Criminal Courts and District Courts. Most JP Courts audio record and the court reporter only reduces the testimony to writing upon request. They charge a fee which is determined by the magistrate, and if I remember the CCP section correctly, they have 6 months to provide it to you. Just because you can look up a docket, doesn't mean you can read the trial transcript. But what do I know.

That game warden is a jerk. A case like that should never go to trial. Not to mention the wannabe tattletale. Good grief.

Ok...who's starting the Go Fund Me for the transcript to be put into writing....Just joking guys...the Lampasas Court Clerk is thinking what the hell with all these calls regarding this case!!!!

Think its great you're moving on and putting this behind you and not naming the member for his actions...you're a better man than I. I'm more of a, if you wrong me I'm going to run you into the ground kinda guy...not healthy...I know! Unless the guilty party admits wrong doing and owns it...now that takes balls to stand up and say, Hey I F'd up and I'm sorry. Most people wont chew their pride long enough to swallow it.

Glad it worked out in your favor.

Question for the group in a case similar to this. What if you shoot on one side of the line and it crosses and dies on the other side? Which side is the deer from?

Would think it would be from the side it was shot on, but that could be a difficult thing to prove.

I'll just try not to hunt near county lines.

There has to be more to the story. How did you piss off the game wardens, neighbors or hunting buddies? I just can't see a GW completely randomly showing up and giving you a ticket in this situation....

JT,
Were you the one who was invited by a ranch hand to take some deer and film the hunts, later turning into a TPWD investigation due to the ranch hand not having permission to sell or give away hunts? If this county line thing was in conjunction with that or even if it was a separate deal I could see how it would put a target on your back with outsiders not in the know or get you put on the TPWD radar even if you were an innocent victim in the whole ordeal.

Sniper how would you feel if you were drug through court in a similar situation "even if you were an innocent victim in the whole ordeal"?

Doesn't everyone just hate the person that can't be happy for you. They have to always say something negative or smart.... The glass is always half empty, never half full. Then they turn someone in the GW without being 100% sure??? Terrible.... What happened to "if you can't something nice then don't say it at all?"
