Seen stuff on here, here and there. Pros an cons, repeat every year or not etc, either way I have to do it.
Couldnt find much searching.
i have had both my GSPs last two months get bit, both had vaccines, both did fine, except for massive vet bills.

Any recommendations nearby?
I am in Corpus, guessing will be San Anton/hill country the closest.

Thank you
Mark

Does them over the summer months.

Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden.

My Britt got the message the first time through. Took him back for training the next year and they had to drag him near the snakes.

I don’t know how many he has avoided out hunting, but he got weird and would not leave the cabin last year. There was a 4” timber rattler under the steps.

We all need to practice Whoa more.

Lying is lying. Don't bitch about one doing it and condone another. That's called hypocrisy.

I don’t buy it. I’ve tried hitting the dogs on full shock when they point a skunk. They will all still grab a skunk. I have one little Brittany that throws up tor hours every time she gets sprayed and gets full electricity. She still hasn’t learned her lesson, and she’s 7 years old.

I’ve found females are more prone to think they know better, and to still try this crap repeatedly.
My males have always been one, and done when it comes to getting them to avoid certain things.
Skunks, and after snake avoidance clinic, my males will do their best to steer clear of them. If one of my females points a skunk, and my male gets a whiff of what she is pointing. He will stop backing, and go the opposite way.

I hunt my lab, dove, duck, quail, pheasant. I also train year round and run hunt test. My dog has rattlesnake vaccine and aversion training [generally every other year]. i also carry pet insurance. Granted I only have one dog, so it's peace of mind for me. Ouch of prevention/pound of cure.

I had pet insurance on the gsp puppy and it helped, I did not for his mother (she is now 6)
