You know you’re retired when…you wake up about 8 on a Monday and you realize you’re at the deer lease!
Just so you young’s don’t get jealous, I’ll add that the trade off is not being able to bend over to put your boots on.

I'm 3 months into my last retirement and sitting in my recliner drinking coffee and watching Let's Make A Deal! I'll figure out the rest of the day in due time!

Did you really trim around the fence posts, but not set the edges on the sidewalk?

The landowner has hired help that handles that. But I agree and I’ve told the young’s on the lease they need to step up and handle that.

Good for you brother! We were at ours a couple of weeks ago in ST - I never get tired of the deer lease - what project do you have going on? I am sure there are multiple??

tlk, do you REALLY want to know what all Im doing at the lease. Ive been accused by somes on here of getting a little long winded on the key board.
Short version would be that I made the rounds to all 11 feeders and dealt with them and their cameras. Picked up many sheds that happened to be in easy sight.

Two real nice sets of both sides. Very photogenic during the year and we passed on them. The pics of sheds are in the thread on "dropping antlers".

I'm year 4 of my retirement (aged 67) and I damn sure earned it. But I find myself more busy now around my property than when I was working...I think.

Thankfully, I am still mostly physically fit and in relatively good health....so hoping to enjoy whatever years I have left. None of us are guaranteed our next breath of course.

Retired life is killing me. All the crap I put off due to working six days a week is what I am doing now. Still have some “free” time but am trying to make that list shorter every week.

Yes but some work has a better mental reward. I use to never want to see a fencing tool again, now I look at the Moore maker on my saddle and day dream about those times. Loathing to reminiscing, funny how things change.

Congrats to all you retiree’s.

I turn 69 next month and been self employed for 42 years and love what I do. About a year ago I cut back from 10-12 hour days to about 4-5 hours a day in the morning - then I go home or golf, etc.

Told my wife that I am "practicing" for full retirement - however I plan to keep working as long as I still enjoy it

I don't ride as much as I used to....but once in awhile. Only rope inside a working pen, not out in the pasture....just too old.

I believe it was ol coach Bum Phillips who said when asked about his daily habits since being retired....
“I don’t do much of anything and I never start that until mid afternoon”....
