Big front moving in, and wind howling about 40 mph. No way I'm keeping the grill or deep fryer going today. Butter-fried burgers on the stove, and oven French fries instead.

Your stuff always looks good...even your inside the house stove top stuff looks like it could be served in a restaurant.

Some folks are fans of pickled red onions, and some aren't. I find that they give me a lot more of the flavor I want, without the after taste or reflux. I love them on almost every sandwich I make.

Try them if you haven't made them at home, and I think you'll love them. Mix it all up to dissolve the sugar and salt. Pour over onions in a sealable jar. When cool, put in the refrigerator. All done!!

One large red onion, sliced thin
1 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup hot water
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon salt
peppercorns to taste
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (for heat)

You need to replace that non stick pan with a well seasoned cast iron for smash burgers. Much improved flavor profile cheers

Yup, I do love cast iron for most things, and probably have more different varied ones than most people here. Just needed a big pan, and was too lazy to walk into my pan storage. smile

Burgers the old fashion. Retains more flavor than grilling.

I made some a while back to see what all of the fuss was about. Still waiting. Didn`t do much for me though. One and done.

I had them at a BBQ joint and loved them, tried making some at home and threw them out. I think my apple cider vinegar had too strong of a taste. Will try again.
