Hi all, Thanks for looking. Took on a new project recently as a bday gift to my brother. Took a few tries to iron out some kinks, but it seems I've figured out a workable equation. I still need to poly and attach the nets. Thanks for looking. Let me know if you have any advice / suggestions on alterations, etc. Far left - Maple, Walnut, and Birdseye maple Middle - Walnut, Maple, mesquite, and Padauk Far right - Walnut and Padauk ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-29884-342223-kvki8186.jpeg)

Those are really nice…
How well do they hold up to the elements?
I really appreciate the craftsmanship…

Looks really awesome. You might consider adding a hole or ring at the bottom of the handle for attaching a lanyard or way to hang it.

Thanks, all.
Sniper John - Thank you for the comment. Actually, the picture I posted is from when I raised the grain, not after applying finish. I added a hole after this picture for a lanyard, etc. I've since added finish and am now finishing up the poly coats.
SnakeWrangler - Thank you - as for durability - the short answer is these are the first ones I've made... so we shall see. The longer answer is that wooden nets have been functional and durable for a long time, so I suspect they will stand up just fine, at least as far as function is concerned. Banged on rocks or dropped certainly would be the best thing for the finish, but I suspect that applies to any net. With these, a little sanding and finish could quickly bring it back to beauty.

You might really be on to something here, I could see a big market for those. Good luck is you decide to take it commercial.

Very nice. Did you take any pictures of the process? I would love to see how you got to this point. And finish pictures would be awesome.
