They look solid. NCAA is a bunch of idiots. I promise you none of the high seeds in the tournament wanted to catch the Aggies in the first round.

They were the 2nd highest rated team to not get an invite in the last 40 years. The committee was lazy and set the tournament seeds a week before the conference tournaments were played.

That's not how it works. That's the delusional Aggie-speak. The committee doesn't look at just the last 2 weeks in March, they look at the entire season going back to November. Aggies are delusional in thinking the 8 game losing streak doesn't matter. A&M also went 4-9 in Quad 1 games, another key metric used in selecting at large teams.

I do think they should have gotten in but do think they should blame themselves as much as anyone for not. They blew some monster leads during the year. That being said, they were one of the hottest teams going down the stretch. I do not believe that going on a losing streak should disqualify you. I would make the argument that a bubble team that is hot-cold is much more likely to be competitive than a team that was mediocre all year long but didn't go on an 8 game losing streak.

They were not good for most of the year. Prior to their conference tournament, they had maybe three decent wins - Ark, Wake, and ND. Getting hot for a week doesn't demand you make the tournament. Could they have been in? Sure, but every year there are 2-3 teams with this same argument. Given the SEC's performance in the tournament, they had little argument of being included.

Congrats to the Aggies for a semi-final berth in the NIT...I think the players and coaches are ok with how it's going, as they likely suspect they'd be on vacation til next year by now if they had been admitted to the big dance...

Aggies are delusional in thinking the 8 game losing streak doesn't matter. A&M also went 4-9 in Quad 1 games, another key metric used in selecting at large teams. You are correct that it's the entire body of work. What does it matter if they lost 8 in a row or 8 over a 12 - 15 game period. They started strong and they ended strong. Mid-season they lost the player that they had designed their offense around and lost the 8 mid-season. So what did they do? They completely scrapped their offense and changed it, and it took some time for the team to pick it up. That's not an excuse, but background on what happened. I am sure you had no idea. Buzz should be SEC coach of the year. It'd be a travesty if he is not. Take a minute and google Buzz Williams' data on the 36 at large bids given by the NCAA committee this year. Until you do that, you are just repeating the talking head excuses you've heard and proving you don't know that of which you speak. Buzz's data clearly shows that the entire body of work is there. The data is black and white. Again, the Aggies were the second highest ranked team by the committee's metrics to not receive a bid in the last 40 years. The committee was at best incompetent and lazy. I am not saying I think A&M could win the national championship, but they deserved to be in the NCAA tournament. Review the data. If you do, come back and discuss the facts in their entirety.

Lots of teams lost 8 throughout the season. But the Aggies didn’t just lose 8. They lost 12 including 8 in a row.

And 8 of the at large bids had 12 to 14 losses. A&M also had 23 wins. 16 at large bids had only 17 - 22 wins. Are you saying A&M should be in on record alone. They were ranked 43 overall by the entire set of metrics for the season and were the second highest ranked team to be snubbed.
Arkansas just beat #1 Gonzaga. (Pig Sooie!!) A&M beat Arkansas twice.
Some of you appear to be letting your fan bias cloud the facts or just refuse to look at the facts.

Thanks for the well wishes. Oldest spent my money on a degree from Tech, so looking forward to them sending coach K out with a loss.

Just based off regular season records and standings, A&M finished 5th in the conference.
The teams that finished 1-4 were all 4 seeds or higher.
The team that finished 6, one slot below A&M, same conference record as A&M, got a 6 seed.
So just off regular season record and conference standings, no way A&M is not in.
Add on to that the tournament run and A&M completely differentiated themselves from the teams below them and should have been in.
I like what Rick Barnes said:
“Well, you know, I think it is what it is,” Barnes said. “We can discuss it and talk about it – I’m here today to talk about this and what I do. I do believe that after Selection Sunday that the chairman or people of the committee should have to have a national day of press conferences so that (the media) can ask questions, not just for two or three minutes, from people that really cover college basketball throughout (the season). When you look at it, to answer your question, everybody said that we were a 3-seed going into the SEC Tournament, so it doesn’t look like the tournament helped us. Certainly, I don’t understand how a team in the SEC that wins 12 games like Texas A&M, and is playing great basketball at the end (of the season), not being in the tournament. It just baffles me, it really does. If that’s the way it’s going to be, if the conference tournament doesn’t mean anything and the teams that are already slotted in the tournament cannot improve their seeding, we should stay at home and let the teams that are trying to get into the tournament fight for that one bid; that gives our league a chance to get more.

Call me a conspiracy theorist. But the tournament already had 7 teams from Texas. A&M and SMU would put 9 Texas teams in the tournament.
