Hang in there Cass.
2 Corinthians 12:8, Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. 9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10 That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Beth is critically stable today. We just visited her and will be back at 4. They are talking about putting a tracheotomy in soon. Still praying for a positive outcome.

Continued prayers for your wife, you and family Sir. I walked down this road late last summer, so I probably know a lot of what you're feeling and going through, it will test you in many ways, prayers for strength and healing. Excerpt from an article that may be worth bringing up to the Doctor, I was told the antibody RX was most effective if administered during the 1'st 7 days after onset of symptoms, but each case is somewhat different. "The singular focus on vaccines meant that little attention was paid to lifesaving therapeutics. For example, Paxlovid is an antiviral medication that reduced COVID deaths to zero in the clinical trial, yet not enough has been produced. Fluvoxamine, an $10 anti-depressant medication that has been available for years, was found in two reputable studies to reduce COVID death, up to 91% in the latest study (no study suggests it’s not effective). Yet, few doctors are aware of these data because our public health officials have never talked about Fluvoxamine." https://www.foxnews.com/opinion/10-biggest-covid-mistakes-americans-apology-dr-marty-makary

I will show the Dr tomorrow. I understand my wife is an unusual case. She had the Rituximab infusion in December to slow her autoimmune (Wegener’s) disease. Therefore She isn’t producing any antibodies to the Covid. The monoclonal antibodies may help her because of this. She should have been given the antibodies when she first tested positive but we didn’t know at the time and I assume the Dr’s didn’t either. Thank You for everything.

I continue to pray for not only a positive outcome for Beth, but also for your strength and patience. Though your situation is different with covid, my wife's struggle with cancer draws many similarities with treatments and emotions. Don't give up hope. The good lord provides.

Thank You all so much again. Beth’s day had a setback this morning but they got it under control. I had an issue with the hotel, they had booked up for the market people so didn’t have rooms. They moved a person to their sister hotel which allowed my Daughter and I to keep our room so glad that worked out. I appreciate you all!!!!

Cass, I'm sorry that I had not read this thread earlier. I woke up at about 4 this morning, and could not fall back asleep, so got on here and ended up reading this whole thread from the beginning. Maybe God woke me up because he wanted me to read this. Anyhow, our family was in a similar situation about a year and a half ago. My Brother-in-law's brother, who is ironically my wife's cousin's husband was in the hospital for over 100 days with Covid. He ended up on ECMO for 99 days if I recall the numbers and dates correctly. We prayed like we had never prayed before, and he eventually recovered. He talks funny now (vocal chord damage from the trach and ventalator), but otherwise is back to normal. If I recall, at one point, they had given him a 20% chance as well. Just to let you know, people do go through what you are going through, and come out the other side. Don't give that 20% thing much weight.
Lord, I pray for you to heal Beth. Lord, please give her and Cass the strength for the long haul. I know this is a long road, and I pray that you help Beth and Cass along the way. In Jesus's name we pray. Amen.

Beth’s numbers were a little better today. The ventilator was on 70% and she maintained 99% oxygen. Her blood pressure was better with less meds. Her breath rate was higher but normal for her with her reduced lung capacity. Still working on getting something to fight the Covid. Dr seemed minutely happier and said he’s looking at doing the tracheotomy later this week if her numbers stay ok. Thank You all again.

The ventilator was set on 70% this morning and Beth was maintaining 99% oxygen. They turned the ventilator down to 65% this evening and Beth was maintaining 92-93% oxygen. They reduced her blood pressure meds even more and her blood pressure was stable. They took her off the paralytic and so far so good. Her heart rate went down to normal (84) when I visited this morning, then went up when I left. It went down again this evening when We visited so the nurse said she senses us there. The infectious disease Dr met me this evening and I signed the consent form for the monoclonal antibodies. She thinks within 2-3 days she'll clear all hurdles with the FDA and they'll do the infusion. She said she's as hopeful as we are that they will help. Baby steps again today but in the right direction.
