I whacked these two this morning at about 70 yards. Took the larger one down first, and his running mate disappeared into the brush. I put a fresh round in the chamber and watched the big 'un for several minutes, and then the smaller one returned and started sniffing around on his buddy. I ended itis sniffing career. Big one had some rather nice cutters. First blood with my new Model 1895 Ruger/Marlin 45-70. Almost enough gun for these little piggies, but a feller can't be too careful.

Boar DOES have nice cutters.

For some reason where I am they tend to be large bodied but have relatively small cutters (in length).

I have a few nice ones....but they are the exception.

I'm awaiting dies that I purchased from a THF'er, so I am using Hornady 325 grain FTX, with an advertised (on the box) MV of 2000 fps. I figure that at the very close range, that nasty bullet hit them at pretty close to that velocity. Neither one of them even wriggled a bit after being hit.
