The wife and I are always on the lookout for worthy organizations to give to. She saw this one the other day that has promise.

Its actually a trade school.

Williamson College of Trades

https://www.williamson.edu/about/

Quote
Williamson College of the Trades prepares deserving young men to be respected leaders and productive members of society.

To accomplish the mission, Williamson gratuitously provides students with academic, trade, technical, moral and religious education, and a living environment based on the Judeo-Christian perspective that fosters the values of faith, integrity, diligence, excellence, and service.

Areas of Study

Associate in Specialized Technology Degrees
– Construction Technology, Carpentry Emphasis
– Construction Technology, Masonry Emphasis
– Horticulture, Landscaping and Turf Management
– Machine Tool Technology
– Paint and Coatings Technology
– Power Plant Technology

Costs

All students attend on full scholarships that cover tuition, room, board, and textbooks. Students pay entrance costs for personal items, annual fees for certain equipment and books that they retain for personal use, and annual fees for breakage and yearbook.

ADMISSION TO WILLIAMSON

Each year approximately 100 students are offered admission to Williamson College of the Trades. Admission is open to all qualifying young men, but special consideration is given to those who come from families of financial need and would otherwise not be able to further their education.....

GIVING TO WILLIAMSON

Williamson College of the Trades was founded by Isaiah Vansant Williamson, a Philadelphia merchant and philanthropist, who wanted to create opportunity for financially-disadvantaged young men to become respected members of society by providing them a free postsecondary education.

Williamson’s mission thrives more than 128 years later on that same philanthropic premise with the college’s endowment supporting 75% of daily operations. The remainder is raised through generous donations from alumni, past parents, friends, corporations and foundations...

I got mad at most .orgs. I tend to focus on Youth Hunting groups now. I’d give to the OP’s though.

It’s funny how Democrat don’t have a scholarship based trades program in the projects and low income areas they control

Donate to TX Youth hunting program.... better to donate then to waste it in taxes

Yep, just give it time and we will back to 2008 when I was a detective with a high school education and my office assistant had a masters degree.

I not talking onesies twoies… I’m talking full blown trades schools at a grand scale.

The OP’s link is 100 students, a year.

I’m talking 20 plus in Dallas county. Subsidized by federal taxes.

The trade school charity would be an excellent one to give to. It seems to have fallen out of favor in public high school and is badly needed.

It's unrelated to the trade school subject, but as for charitable giving to consider. My wife is a co-founder and secretary for a cancer charity Michelle Adele Foundation. Unlike most charities, no one on the board takes a salary. One of the namesakes was my friend, my mentor, and my dogs breeder Michelle Neupert who died of Ovarian Cancer. My dog Dash Rip Rock is the charity mascot and attends all fund raising events. They have had to cancel events for the last two years due to covid, but now that covid has settled, they hope to be having the next event at 3 Nations Brewing in the old Carrollton Square sometime in September. I'll post details on THF when it comes time. We would love for for you and any THFers to attend. You will be welcomed like family.

I utilize yearup.org for about 8-10 hires a year.

It’s more of an IT specific trade school. They give all accepted scholarships and some get a stipend and transportation

I don’t understand why these type schools aren’t more prevalent
