We have had 3-4 pairs of Bluebirds on our place consistently for 17 years. After that bad cold last winter, haven't seen one since.

I know some of you posted about froze BB, wondering if anyone has seen any resurgence? Kind of like seeing them around.

My parents house in Houston has a pair of bluebirds on it. I've never seen them there before.

Our box has 5 bluebird eggs in it now. Should hatch in 2-3 days. Never had them lay 5.

We usually fill our bird feeders about once a month. Last year they never were emptied.

I have had bluebirds for several years. None last year. Was glad to see a pair return this year. Already have eggs in the nest.

I've been here 30 years and never seen a bluebird until the snowmageddon. Have a couple of pairs now.

We had scrub jays everywhere, they were common at feeders. This last year I didn't see any. This may be what some folks are calling blue jays.
I have never seen a blue jays around here.

I need to keep an eye out. We had a dozen or more on our place before the freeze. I only saw 2 or 3 last year.

They get hot particularly hard during winter because they feed primarily on insects.

Usually bluebirds build 4 nests in my martin house. This year only 1 compartment had a bluebird nest. I guess last years cold got most of them.

We lost at least a dozen last years freeze; sadly found them huddled/dead in the bluebird boxes we have around.
We were keeping chicken-scratch out for all the wild birds, but sadly didn't know better to put dried bugs
(dried fly larvae - chicken treats) out for the bluebirds,
which maybe would've helped them since they couldn't get to the ground/dirt with the several inches of snow.

Fortunately, we are now seeing some around hitting the bluebird boxes,
so maybe we can help get their numbers back up.

Mine never nested last year after the big freeze. Haven't seen any until lately. Just found an egg in my box. I think they'll make a comeback.

I'm glad a few of you are seeing B showing back up, I've only been home a few hrs, so hopefully I see some this week.

Had painted buntings last summer, so those are still around, fun to see, but shy.
