I just had my barrel on my sako threaded and I installed a new dead air muzzle break.

Can i expect a significant shift in POI?

Yes. My experience is, it'll be significant enough you could miss an animal at a couple hundred yards.

I've heard all the stuff about POI not changing on TB suppressors. However, I'm not from MO but you'd have to show me that it doesn't happen.

"Significant" I doubt it, but it will most likely shift.

Any time you change the muzzle, check zero and reshoot the distances you typically shoot. Shortening the barrel, adding a brake or suppressor, things can and often do change.

Depends on the term significant. I've had a couple rifle threaded. Basically is it significant enough to re-zero? For sure yes I would at least check/re-zero based on my limited experience of 2. I've noticed POI shift with NO muzzle device and then with a brake.

Exactly, what's a couple of shots? I'm thinking about it on a 20" CTR in .308. My buddy put one on a 24" CTR, 6.5 Creedmoor. Still grouped nice, just in a different place. Nothing a quick zero wouldn't fix. It is interesting though, to hear the amount of shift in POI, and increase, or maybe a decrease in grouping one can cause as it relates to the barrel.

yes, definitely need to confirm zero !

but I wouldn't expect more than a MOA or so of change at 100 yards

I actually played with this once and looked at notes and pics. There's just one load in one rifle that I I have 100% confidence in. I've shoot in multiple configurations basically all had poi shifts. So nothing with the threads exposed, not even a thread protector, was the base case at 100yds all 5 shot group estimates. I didn't notice anything with a thread protector. A single port Silencerco brake had a small, but noticeable, about an inch-ish or less to the left and down. I have an Omega 300 mounted on the brake and it shifted closer to 1.5-2.0" in a similar left and down. A magnetospeed strapped on with the same brake was about 2.0" straight down. Never tried suppressor direct mount or magnetospeed without the brake.

Adding my suppressor cover will drop my group 1/2" at 100y on one of my guns...it's a 1/4" on another that has a thinner barrel. You just have to shoot them and find out but zero, I've never seen 0 shift for a suppressor.

Yes...os&w, you're correct...I've always seen a shift.

Sorry...I guess I should've used the number and not spelled it out. I edited to clarify.
