Three years ago they were dying in large numbers around here. I had to bury four on my little place. I used a .22. Turned out to be distemper which I was told tends to blossom when the raccoon population gets too dense. The obvious symptom was that they would be out in daylight hours, looking dazed, and would just stand in one place until they dropped. Death came not too long after.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Just read. Had a opossum couple years ago. 8 oz ball pein worked well.

If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

That’s what most trappers use

I would have shot him and dealt with the city if anyone called it in. .22 is not that loud and I wont let one live like that long.

You guys need a suppressor. I can shoot 22 in my back yard as much as I want. My 3 year old is louder out there than my 22.

I suggest a cheap Pellet gun for critter-wet work in the neighborhood. I make a bit of noise a lot of the time anyway so neighbors are probably desensitized to the airgun "pop" sound happening once in a while.

Link is to the one I use in the backyard- a newer, cheaper build of the gun I terrorized the local small game with as a kid. Added a scope so I could hit field rat heads.

Could've used a covid mask while handling it.

No one is going to know where one shot from a .22 came from.

So much this. My Buckmark with the CCI Quiet doesn't make as much noise as the latch on my gate.
