When I had my first, I told the Dr afterwards they needed stronger drugs, so you didn't wake up before they were done. He said you couldn't have been awake, and I repeated verbatim what he and the nurse were talking about. He almost died of embarrassment!! Thank goodness it doesn't come around very often!!

My first scope job was in 1980. They didn’t put you out back then. It was not fun. And, you didn’t drink the ‘evacuation’ liquids. They (a cute little blonde) gave me 2 or 3 enemas prior to the test.

It was a physical that I had to pass to take a new job. Huge increase in pay, so I suffered through the test.

Same for me 603. When they pump that air in there to look around, I felt like I was going to absolutely explode. That's why it took me 20 years to get the next one done.

Really not that bad. You mix the drink with some 7-up or such and gulp it down a little at a time. Yea, the stuff is a little nasty going down. Have a clear path to the toilet and have reading material. Butt cream or Vaseline after each sit will greatly help. Next morning take a little nap and go home and continue with life. Also helps if you eat lite a day or so before starting the prep. I'd do 10 of these before I'd ever do another knee surgery!

My last one was a piece of cake. The only bad part is drinking that crap they give you. I got the same stuff Michael Jackson used to knock himself out. It's good stuff. Came out of the procedure feeling like I'd slept for 12 hours. I could see why MJ would use it.

Hey Biscuit, Im with Jimbo. I just had my first one a few weeks ago. It's not as bad as some of these "older" timers had. took the 5 Duralax, mixed the powder in a pitcher and drank it about half and half with some gatorade. you drink half the night before and half the day of. And eating light a few days before did help. Slept great the night after.

Mine resulted in twelve polyps removed, two of which were pre-cancerous.

I've seen someone die from colon cancer. From discovery to death was maybe six months. He didn't have one single fun day in that time. Get it done, it can save your life.

Agree, mine was 4 Ducolax, then Miralax. Wasnt bad at all. Only ruined one pair of tidy whites.

He said after the procedure I looked ok, have to see him in three weeks to go over all my questions. I'll know more then.

The surgeries were all running late Thursday, so, I didn't have much time to visit with mt Doc.

It took forever but the Propaphol was worth the wait.

Got one coming up again in a couple weeks. Pro Tip - when you are restricted to a liquid diet the day before the event, DON'T "kick the broth up a notch" with a dose of Tabasco sauce.

agree, the prep is way worse than the actual procedure ... unless you wake up in the middle (yep, did that on one) but then you just feel nauseated (or I did). The Dr. & people in the room were like eeks333 when I asked if that was my "innards" on the screen, pushed a bit more juice and back to sleep I went. Afterwards, laying on your left side works wonders of passing all the air they pump into you.

Sounds like the anesthesiologist was asleep at the wheel.
