After a lot of debate, and even more prayer, my wife and I have decided it is time for us to move back east closer to family. If there ever were signs from God we've had them. Vet practice available to buy in her hometown? done. House in her home town? family member was selling his deceased mothers house. Her job? keep it and work remote. What about the awesome house we just built? and the land? here's an offer that's more than we could've ever imagined.

Moving to Texas has been an amazing experience. As a kid growing up in Alabama, I dreamed of moving "out west". Went to school and got the opportunity to do just that. Texas has been extremely good to us, and we love it here. We've been here almost 10 years now. Our kids were born here. If only it were closer to our folks. We're going to miss our friends and the life we have built, but I don't think we can go wrong by raising our kids closer to the grandparents.

I'm sure I'll still be around the forum. And I hope to make some trips back to hunt. But as of the end of April, I'll no longer be a Texan.

Sounds like all the signs were there as you said, now it’s time for the little ones to enjoy the grandparents and Vice versa. Safe travels home and home it’s all you want and more.

It’s a hard decision to make, but your kids will appreciate the sacrifices you make. I wish I had more time with my grandparents.

Good luck in the Deep South. You're gonna miss Texas' problems. Wouldn't be surprised to see those kids move back when they are older and wiser.

Hate to hear good folks like you all are leaving us for sure but can see why and believe you are making the right call. It is very important to have those kids close to their grandparents IMHO.

I take it you are heading back to Alabama?? If so, there are some damn good folks there for sure. I had several hunt with me years back and am still close friends with them today.
