I caught one in a snare last year that was dark like that. Kind of a reddish color and was unusually large for a coyote. SOB's

That could very well be true. There were 2 Mouflon lambs and now there are none. But I will get it. Then the mangy bast+rd well get real dark rotting in the sun with buzzards picking his eyeballs out.

In West Llano Co we had some very dark and large coyotes. A few would look almost black. Locals said they had bred with dogs many years back.
