Anyone bought dogs from Cline Strickland from Cline Kennels? If so, what was your experience? You can message me if you prefer not to post.

I'm curious @ his dogs--know he builds quality boxes and trailers.

I have sold him several dogs and he was top notch to deal with. I have never bought any from him.
But from the looks of pictures from his guiding service he gets his dogs into plenty of birds.
Good luck

You’ve heard the stories. I wouldn’t buy anything from him, unless I could run the dog for a few weeks prior to purchase.

I’ve never bought a dog from him, but have hunted over his dogs in excess of 30 times (never as a paid hunter). Most of his dogs have always been solid. Some great memories were made out around Sylvester, Roby, and Sweetwater over the years with his dogs.

Do your homework on the dog you want, make him run the dog to show you it will run, point and can be shot over. I did purchase a dog from him, matter of fact my first pointer. Do all the items above it will save you headache and heartache down the road.

Trip to a vet for heartworm and blood test before money changes hands would be included also for me.

Good tips above. Cline has some good dogs, but a LOT of dogs and not all of them are keepers. You have to go in and do strong due diligence, and I would get an email that I can get my money back in 30 days for whatever reason...say the dog, under no circumstances, will cross a barb wired fence. My dad got a dog from him many years ago and he did make the switch out to the second dog right with really no drama.

Will say a buddy of mine got an English Cocker from him last year, and its gonna be a helluva a dog.

I would recommend getting a pup under four months old...that way you can ensure proper socialization, will hunt with/for you, etc.
