I've shot clays out there and bird hunted a few years ago. It's a professional operation or at least it was back then. Bring $s.
To be determined

Yes it is very nice. Guy in front of me paying invoice was over $60,000... His credit card had a higher limit than mine. He let his 2 kids shoot the gold medal whitetails that day.

I’ve been on the place a few times to buy a few of their hand me down deer stands. Seemed nice. I toured their main living/dining/social area and seemed nice. I remember thinking everything was pricey.
At some point in life its time to quit chasing the pot of gold and just enjoy the rainbow. FR Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations. RWH

Not into hunting pets. Probably just me though. To each their own. Maybe it's not really like that either, I don't know just seems that way to me.

I've shot sporting clays there once. Very nice place. Huge kennel of bird dogs. Some of the nicest whitetails I have ever seen. They put on great events, but are way out of my price range.
We all need to practice Whoa more.

Two buddies shot pheasant there this year. Both had great things to say about it.
I hunt another Orvis lodge, Joshua Creek here in Boerne. Loads of fun.
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I had one as a kid.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Thanks for the input.
Pricing actually didn't seem too bad for the bird hunts....$3260 per person all inclusive for 3 days/2 nights/4 hunts. Exotic prices didn't seem out of line either compared to other HF places I've looked up. I don't have any plans to do any whitetail hunting, but those can be pricey if you do the Gold Medal hunts.

Lodging, food and bird hunting is all top notch there. Exotics wouldn't be any easier to kill if they were blindfolded and tied off to a wooden post though.

Went several years ago before they became an Orvis property. Four of us shot the sporting clay course and 5 stand in the morning and did the upland game hunt in the afternoon. It was a blast and I would highly recommend it.

Everyone we've worked with has been great over there. We've been making maps for their ranch for many years.

They are always going out there on the "DFW Outdoors" show that comes on every Saturday morning on one of the local channels. I saw them do a Blackbuck hunt the other day with a former Dallas Cowboy. They literally drove right up to it on the sxs and got out and shot it. At most a 50 yard shot. I was shocked they would even air something like that. It is a beautiful place though, I live not too far down the road from it.

Going west on I-20 and you look up and see the castle like things, makes you wonder what it is like there.

Just spent three days out there the first week of this month. Great place if you are in to this sort of hunting. I'd never done it before (grew up bird hunting Iowa CRP), but I had a great time. I'd say it is "As Advertised"- they don't advertise it as some extreme, hardcore hunt, and it's not. The food was GREAT, accommodations were solid, and their staff was great considering they received like 6" of snow WHILE we were there. Thoroughly enjoyed the trip and will do it again

It’s a very nice place, we hunted exotics and had a good time. If I were going somewhere strictly for birds I’ve got a few other places I’d go and save some money on the hunt and get the same experience. You might look at this place, it’s not as top end as the Castle but pretty close and it’s cheaper with better food. https://www.hiddenlakeshr.com/
