Those of you that feed Cotton Seed what months of the year do you feed it?

Ours are hitting it hard.

I just started last year and fed it year round so far. I feed the Fortified Cottonseed. Post rut is when the bucks are going to hit it the hardest. Then it varies month to month depending on range conditions. Mine right now are not what they were eating last summer when it was dry. We have a lot of winter weeds right now and the consumption shows it.

New to the forum and new to cotton seed. I picked up about 120 lbs. from my local Gin (SE North Carolina) about a month ago to use as a trial. The deer started testing it in the first week. Now they are hitting it every day.

I did mix some cow mineral in with it and mixed some corn in the cotton seed that spilled out around the basket on the ground. I did not mix corn with CS in the basket due to coons and turkeys digging the CS out to get the corn.

Throughout the year. I use Fortified Cottonseed in a cylinder basket stand up feeder.

They add minerals and vitamins to it. https://fortifiedcottonseed.com/ In 2 years I have seen an increase of antler growth, health and fawn rate.
