Thinking of dipping my anchors in rubber coating as an offseason project. Then got to thinking is this stuff durable, will it absorb water and start breaking apart and deteriorating when it freezes. Several manufacturers that make the rubber coating dipping liquid, any particular one better than the other?

I just throw my texas rig decoys in the decoy bag, I dont worry about a carabiner and tying them up I'm in the camp thats says......if your hunting puddle ducks in shallow water and your using a few dozen or more dekes....Tx rigging with the lifetime line is the BOMB. Now that said, my 400lb clear mono line I've had for 5 years is still in great shape but if/when I re rig them it will be the brown lifetime line....(so ditch that decoy bag is my point) and I wouldn't coat the weight with nothing BTW.....don't use those lines/weights that now come with some decoys....they are JUNK. Buy the line and weights separate and make them yourself.

Well no reason for a bag if you are hunting out of a boat. But when you walk in like me its a whole lot easier to put everything in a quality decoy bag.

I hear ya...8 years ago in my first serious year of duck hunting I walked in all season. But I knew after that season I'd be going water craft, which evolved from a yak, small aluminum project boat, to 20 foot beast today. If I knew I was going to go back to walking in I'd....get a backpack type blind bag, lightest decoys yet quality ones I could buy (lifetime decoys is what I'd buy right now if I had to start fresh), the smaller jet sled they sell and gun of choice. The decoys would have 1 or 2 ounce weights. Dekes and gun would go in sled and I'd be wearing my blind bag. walking stick in hand and go put some boot leather down! Oh, I'd put gatorglide on the bottom of the sled and put bid wooden dowel handles on it Ditch the decoy bag

I carry 18 very light deeks, 2 sets of 9, clip on wader O-Rings, sling over both shoulders, works great. Been doing that for years...
