That's really sad. No matter buck or doe that is a terrible way for the animal to go.

The panels look higher than what we use. Have you considered lower panels, or cutting sections of them down to about 36"?

He had them but with major cattle problems the last 6 months they have opted to raise the panel height to try to stop cattle from tearing up and jump into pens. He has another post on another thread with cattle jumping over premade panels like this.

Klappenbach and I put up electric wire. Everybody else converted pens to four foot height. We are just hoping this does not become a re-occuring issue.

The trick here is to use 12 " of hardware cloth at the top...I use flexible hog wire with break-away wire. I have had this for 15 years and no problems. If ya use a hard upper section without protection ...sooner or later this might happen.

Coming back home this evening, I had some does and fawns jump the fence heading into a neighbors field. One buck fawn did not make it over the fence and hung is back leg on the top two wires. I got out and flipped him back over and he hit then ground and got back up running away. He weighed all of 30-35 lbs I bet. He was happy and so was I.
