Have a question for the experts out there. Have a dried up overgrown pond at my place with an old well in place. Did a static test and the water is at 318 feet. Bottom of well is at 331 feet. We dropped a poly line down there, and borrowed a big diesel pump and rigged it up to connect it. Got clear cold water to come out so it looks like it is still good. What's the cheapest and easiest way to get water to the surface? Don't need to fill the pond up, just want to put some troughs out there with a float to keep a few thousand gallons available for the wildlife.

Thanks in advance.

Second the solar pump. They have some that are rated for that kind of head. Put it on solar panels and let it pump all the time the sun is out. They only do 1 or maybe 2 gpm, so they are easier on well drawdown than a big GPM pump.
My buddy runs a setup like that and he gets almost 2000 gallons a day in the summer.

We all need to practice Whoa more.
