For a good solid bbq plate give it a try. It will probably never be a on a magazine cover but the overall and pricing is right
I will say - Best customer service of any bbq joint - Dang good onion rings - Habanero sauce is excellent

Very true. Didn't have the onion rings but service was really good. Staff checked with me a handful of times, not bothersome but gave me plenty of chances to ask for something. I had a bit of the Habanero sauce, the meat didn't need it but had to try it. Dang good. I always get fatty brisket when given the option. The brisket was fantastic, better than most and as good as any if not better. To me what separated it from others was the bark. Ample, good balanced flavor of smoke and pepper and not dry or crunchy like the bark can be at times. The only side I had was collard greens, good also. I'll go back in a few weeks and try some other sides.
An unethical shot is one you take, that you know you shouldn't.

I eat there weekly.... Brisket is always really good... The collard greens are some of the best I have ever had....They started a smoked prime rib french dip that is incredible...but run out quick.... The BBQ Cuban is my go to...Smoked pork loin..smoked ham..Brisket and swiss cheese put on pannini bread and toasted.... Friday and Sat nights are AYCE ribs for 18 or Catfish for 15.... Best service you will ever have at a place....

A good friend of mine that lives in Highland Village goes there often. ^^^^^^^^^^^ Your post inspired me to get off my azz and give my friend a call, meeting him there for lunch today. Leaning towards the 3 meat plate so I can bring some back for the Mrs. Other selfish considerations are (The BBQ Cuban is my go to) looks awful tasty and Friday is all you can eat ribs or fried catfish which also sounds tempting! If I do the 3 meat plate it will include: The brisket was fantastic, Jalapeño Cheddar Sausage Not sure about the third choice (Dang good onion rings) love good onion rings but going with more traditional BBQ sides 1. The collard greens are some of the best I have ever had 2. Will be either the Cowboy Beans or Potato Salad.

Sullivan's was Dayum good! Fatty Brisket was spot on, moist, tender, nice bark and very good flavor, Jalapeno Sausage was also very good, just a tiny bit cheesier than I like but still dang good and I would get it again. OMG the Collard Greens were great! the beans were very good too. I initially ordered Texas toast, they brought my friends plate out first, when I saw his Corn Bread I knew I had screwed up and hauled azz up front to get them to change it out, no problem and so glad I did, good stuff Maynard!. Overall a Dayum good food and service, highly recommend it

Looks good! I'll have to give it a try. I used to go to the meat market when it was there many years ago. Know right where it is. Thanks for the critique.

Wife and I went today for lunch and got that sammy and those rings, really good stuff, still full! Cole slaw belongs on a ‘que sammy.
It was our first time there and I was thinking it was a new place by the others around city hall, but they’ve been there a while.

Great place, been three times in the last month or so. Good music Saturday night. Got this platter, it's like $35.00 and my wife & I took 1/2 of it home. It comes with brisket, turkey, pork, ribs, sausage, 4 sides. ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-53199-340673-img_9363.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://texashuntingforum.com/forum/pics/userpics/2022/03/full-53199-340674-img_9360.jpg) Happened to have PBR in tall cans. After all that, owner walks up and hands me a cup with some "special sauce". It was about 4 oz. of not bad at all Bourbon. Good enough that I handed my keys to my wife. But wait there's more, they were trying out cinnamon roles. Passed a few trays of these around to anybody that wanted one.

Looks good! I'll have to give it a try. I used to go to the meat market when it was there many years ago. Know right where it is. Thanks for the critique. I basically grew up in the Old Town Meat Market. Dickie Grant owned it and was a mentor to me in regards to cooking BBQ, processing wild game and picking out a good steak. I could go on and on. I even had my rehearsal dinner in the meat market. Sullivan's had giant shoes to fill if they operate out of that building!
