$5 Per Tail: Two Central Texas Counties Are Offering Bounties for Feral Hogs Two counties in Central Texas are putting bounties on feral hogs this year. Starting in February, hog hunters in Hays and Caldwell Counties will be able to get paid for killing pigs to the tune of $5 per tail. Both counties received grants from Texas A&M AgriLife Extension’s Wildlife Services, which will provide funding for the bounty program. Hays County received $7,500, while Caldwell received $20,000. I believe Menard county pays a bounty on tails too. 'Not sure of the amount. 'Guy told me they accept frozen tails. 'Told him that reminded me of my ex-wife. Kimble has a bounty system also. I do see lots of dead pigs along the ranch roads. I wonder how many were actually hit by a vehicle?

Cass county had a bounty for several years but changed it to you had to bring in the jaw. They said too many people were cutting off
tails from domestic hogs. Same thing when they took in Ears.
