Didn’t see a single bird deer hunting season.
We usually see them come and go hunting or on game cams.
Anyone else in the area see massive decline.
Did the February freeze hurt the population?

Not that far north, but the freeze was pretty brutal even down here in Kimble county. I counted over 50 birds on the roost at dawn this past Sunday.

I still saw a good number of birds. Did not notice any major drop in my area.

I've noticed a drop where I am, but they are starting to develop some ranchettes in the area. I used to have a resident flock of about 40. I haven't seen a turkey now in several years. Would always see them in the spring. More people, more traffic does not = more wildlife.

When we lived on Shoreline Dr near the turnoff to the Elk's Club up on Preston Peninsula for 11 years, there were always Eastern's running the creek bottom on the east side of the Hwy all the way north to the area around the church property. Another place we always saw Eastern's was south where the rocky creek bottom crossed the highway with some house's on the west side of the road. The Coors Beer property on the south side of the cove where my boathouse was, the one in the middle of the three boathouse's on the north bank, also had Eastern's roosting over there some years...and always had coyote's nesting as well...mama 'Yote's would bring the pup's on my side the cove to kick them out of the pack when it was time for them to grow up, or the old decrepit guys to finish passing. The coyotes hunted both sides of the cove and south where the creek dried up. The wife still miss's Texoma 6+years later. She could catch a wheel barrow full of stripers on the old washed out ramp in front of our house on the good days.

I had a group of 11 (1 jake , 10 hens) hanging around my place this fall - I'm in s.east corner Cooke county, not far from Grayson.
They disappeared when hunting season started (I'm not hunting them), but I did just see 1 hen out back near the feeder just a few minutes ago.
