Boys are 14 abs 17 and it sure seems to fly by faster every year. It sure isn’t what it was 10 years ago but we made the best of it. Even with low #s we got out as much as possible.





Youngest got to shoot his great, great, great grandpas model 11d a few times.

Took some newbs on their first hunt and turned em loose. That are still complaining about how bad their thumbs hurt.



Took the family to the east coast and spent a week with a buddy in RI.

Buddy from RI came down to collect a few pretties.



Took him to a buddies place in SW Tx and got him the teal slam.

I’ve spent countless hours glassing 1000s of ducks on my places for years and this one is in the pond in my front yard.

Usually have friends from AK in the whole last week but the ronas shut em down. Got to jump in on a cancellation hunt that I’ve always wanted to do. Hooked up at my buddy’s place in Cancun and the trip was worth missing the last week of duck season. www.yukkutz hunting.com

If you’ve ever thought about an ocellated hunt, do it! I had at least 350 turkeys in front of me In 3 days.

Ducks, guns, fish, turkey, travel, friends, lobster and family--can't get much better than that. Great pictures.

One of the things I have admired about your threads, over the years, is how much time, thought and care goes into your photos. Well, there's also the extreme jealousy I also have but I won't go into details about that part. Thanks for sharing your and your boys' incredible season with us

Thank you. The pictures tell the story and preserve the memories. I was looking back at my log book and I’ve duck hunted over 1000 times in the last 20 years. There’s no way to remember them all but show me a picture and I can tell you “something” about every hunt. That’s a big part of why I got away from tailgate pictures and try to get “moments” from every hunt. My youngest is 14 and has the eye/knack for the moment. He snapped this one in the moonlight wading into one of our sets this year on a spot we had never hunted.




The guys I hunt with joke and say I’m worse than a Japanese tourist but they always hit me up for the pics afterwards.

I agree tailgate pics and pics of piles get old quick. But I suck at getting pictures in the momemt

You only suck at it because you are caught in the moment of shooting a duck, and not shooting a photo of a moment. Not picking on you 2flyfish4, just an overall comment we all face. I love taking pics of my dog in the moment, in the process I miss a lot of shots on ducks.

This is an incredible post, looks like a great season. Absolutely love the teal trio, cinny is at the top of my wish list.

Very true, and no doubt I'd rather have my gun in my hands than a camera. I do think one day that will change. I've been saying for years I want to get a really nice camera and lens. Just haven't done it yet.

No need for a high $$ camera now. The I phone 12/13 dies 90% of what any camera will do.

Don’t get me wrong, I still love shooting but don’t mind if I miss a shot or two because I’m busy taking pictures. As good as my boys shoot, they no longer need me fit backup.
