I’m not sure where I read this, maybe an article or social media posts, BUT has anyone had any luck attracting Axis bucks during the rut with Whitetail lures/urine/estrous? I know the EZY Axis calls work, but just trying seek out any extr advantages when I book something soon… TIA

I have never tried it but axis breed all times of the year and are also breeding when whitetail breed. Never saw an axis buck have any interest in a whitetail doe when they go into estrus. Best attractant I have ever used is #1 horse and mule sweet feed, I use a brand called “somethin Sweet” very strong sweet smell of pellets oats chopped up corn and molasses and second best is Chaffhaye. I hunt a place free range and I may not see an axis deer on the place for weeks. If I put a bag out of the horse and mule feed. I will have pics of axis by the next morning on the property.
