I like them more than whitetail. The issue is that you don't get much meat from them.

I don't rate them as good as I do axis, mule deer or whitetail but they are better than fallow.

They are very good. My wife and mother-in-law both prefer them to whitetail.

A buddy of mine gave me the front and hind quarters off of one he got in Bandera. I had them ground up. Made some chili and burgers from it. It was awesome.

Good meat but they aren't very big so you don't get much off one for the price of the animal.

If they weighed as much as a whitetail I’d shoot one every year. 99% of the time any exotic antelope species is going to be good eats.

I’ll echo the comments above. The one blackbuck doe I’ve had made great table fare. Just wasn’t a whole lot of it.

Blackbucks are going for $3500 you average maybe 20 pounds of meat if you're lucky That will break down to about $175 per pound of meat I don't think there's anything on the planet that tastes that good. Lol But they certainly Make a beautiful mount.

Take a hindquarter and get some cheap grape jelly and heat the grape jelly until it turns to liquid then inject it in the hindquarter, wrap it in bacon and smoke it.... its fantastic

A friend had a ranch near Rocksprings. I shot at least one doe every year. The does are OK. Meat is milder then whitetails. Older bucks can be tough. Blackbucks are grazers.
