I thought it might be some sort of feed hopper. But it appears that there is not a good way to fill it. Looks like a small hole on top.

The house has a captive air water tank next to the well. The object in question is a couple hundred yards away.

Could it be an excess water reservoir for a waste lift station. Kinda like a water hammer eleminator but open to atmosphere and in a waste line.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

It’s one of those big green things you run a pipe up into and then hang from a fence post. I believe the technical term is big green pipe thingamabob.
