Pros and cons on both
Looking to have one put together in a 17" shooting 162-180 grain will be loaded with H4350
Will be used in target and hunting with and with out muffler

Saw has slightly less capacity. They say it is formed with a simple sizing process vs fireforming that the ai needs but I'm not 100% certain on that. They typically use the same powders with the same bullets.

You can get SAW brass from WTO, no need to form. Thought Varget was the powder of choice but I could be mistaken.

Varget thru h4350 and I have a good supply of the 4350

Been shooting 7mm SAW for last 2 years…
Started with 24” barrel and now shooting 20” Barlein with 7” suppressor
162 ELDX is preferred and I use Clayton’s SRP WTO brass
Preferred load is 2750 fps out of the 20” barrel.
Varget is preferred; however with difficulty in finding it, I’ve developed a good load with IMR 4166 that works similar to Varget.

I believe you just run 7-08/308 brass through the die.

I believe you just run 7-08/308 brass through the die. Small rifle primer as well.

From their website: This cartridge was developed on Lapua’s .308 Winchester “Palma” brass, which has an extremely strong case head due to its use of a small rifle primer pocket(already proven to work well via the 6.5×47). Brass can be formed in one pass through a 7mm SAW sizer die, and is then ready to load. Standard large primer .308 brass can be used as well. I run palma brass in my 7mm-08ai. So it's a wash imo.
