My friends and I are in search of a long term lease within 3 hours of DFW (preferably west of the metroplex). We are a group of younger professionals ranging from 25-35 years old that want to build a long term relationship with a landowner to make improvements and manage the deer herd where both parties can benefit. We are looking for around 1,000 acres for 8 hunters. Pricing will depend on amenities on the land but our current range is $3-5k per hunter.

Thanks for the help!

Y'all are okay with paying $5k each on 1,000 acres and maybe only 2 or 3 guys getting a buck each year? We have 5 on 1,100 acres and that's more than enough at a 1/3 of your price. There a lease up the road from me where $5k will given you access to 12,000 acres and a house. Drive around and call some big ranches who can put you in contact with their hunting side.

Look into some of the larger ranches out in West Texas...may be a bit more drive but you can lease a pasture to your group. Be more acres per hunter and much better deer. Might even get some mule deer with the whitetail on the right ranch.
