Just got tires for the truck. Up 15-20%

Local McDonalds has been drive thru only for a few months. Not for Covid restrictions, they can’t get people to work.

I had chili last night without crackers. The stores have been out for weeks.

This is just a brief list. I could go on. We all know it so I’m wasting my breath.

Thanks Brandon.

My wife used to get McDonald's tea because a large was a dollar. Went through last week and it was $1.83 with tax.

I noticed this the other day and couldn't figure out why.

I bought tires in Sept and paid less than I did 2 yrs ago, so they must have recently gone up? Most of the local fast food places here are open for walkins and a few have drive thru only open. Other restaurants are closing early most of the time due to lack of help. Family run restaurants are still doing good. Went to eat at the Doss Cafe at noon one Sunday and the owner said they only could server hamburgers and pizza since their cook was not their that day. I noticed the same on crackers the last 2 weeks with the private label being out of stock on a certain ones, the name brands are in stock you just have to get their when they are on the shelf. I bought private label crackers last week at WallyWorld. The week before I bought Nabisco. I am sure they are in short supply but everyone is eating hot foods that crackers go with in the colder weather, making them sell much faster. Convenience stores have been out of a lot of snack items or in short supply also for months now. They have signs on the shelves stating they are having trouble getting stock from vendors. Prices have gone up a lot over the last 6 months on most snack items in the stores. Getting help is the same for them also. Stopped at one C store in Harper one day in the middle of the week at it was closed at the noon hour....not enough help to stay open. Local radio station for the last 8 months has been talking about the local businesses not being able to find anyone help or anyone who wants to work.

The gas station/convenience store where I get ethanol free gas had to start closing on weekends because they couldn't find anybody to work.

The wife came back from the grocery store yesterday and said the same beef she's been buying for $4 a pound is now priced at $8. And someone reported seeing bacon selling for $12 a pound.

I feel for parents who still have kids in college and a mortgage and car notes. I heard a report that college enrollment has dropped and suspect it's because people can no longer afford it and/or kids are having to work to help both them and their parents make ends meet.

My dad needs a set of tires for his truck. I looked up the cooper a/t’s I put on my truck $175 on Walmart website. Looked on tire rack and the cheapest name brand tire in the size/load range was $225+ a tire. I texted him back he better jump on the coopers if he liked them.

A guy that works at the small local grocery store told me yesterday that they ordered 500 cases of food for this week's order and they only got 200 of them. All kinds of stuff is out of stock he said.

I am tired of people scraping off these stickers. I paid good money for them.

Went to pick up a grocery order and was told there was no broccoli so it was substituted with cauliflower. I explained that neither is a substitute for the other. The person looked confused.

At least mortgage payments are a fixed cost. I am going to go put 60 or 70 gallons in the boat as soon as I get my tire back on the trailer. A 95 gallon tank can come in handy if you time it right. The Optimax sips gas compared to the carbuerated/modded Black Max. Also helps that the Optimax runs fine on 87 octane versus 93 in the Black Max.
