Anyone have any luck with their muzzleloader this year? Got 3 days left of the season here. It's my favorite season, but since it runs with youth season, I usually don't get to pull the trigger. I was surprised the other night, I ran into two separate muzzleloader hunters at the gas station in East texas that both were icing down deer. Going to try to squeeze one more hunt in around volleyball this weekend.

Went out yesterday evening. Seen several deer some within 40 yds just didn’t see one that I wanted to take. Hopefully my nephews kid will get to hunt this weekend and get him a buck.

I shot a doe last weekend. I'll be out tomorrow evening and all day Sunday. Still targeting a specific buck that has gone completely nocturnal. Still hoping he makes a mistake.

Not in Texas. Killed a decent muley buck in Utah with my Paramount. 280 yard shot.

Utah mule deer and Idaho antelope this year. Misfire on a nice Kansas whitetail.

@Blank - might need to talk to you about that Kansas whitetail hunt. Thinking about heading up there this year. Have too many KS points, need to burn them.

On the misfire, it was a nice 8 pt at 100 yds. 209 primer went off but didn't ignite the powder. Pushed everything out and all the deer hightailed it. Another hunter shot the buck later that day.

I had 4 bucks come in the last 15 mins of light. One of which was a known associate of my target buck and had been photographed with him earlier today. I figured he'd be along shortly. Then a 155 lb boar ran the deer off. The pig got shot.

Was cleaning mine between shots and didn't realize patches were so saturated in cleaner. It got to wet and got junk in my breechplug and stopped it up twice before I realized what had happened. Now I know to squeeze them out good
