Headed south to go enjoy a 85 degree afternoon in preparation for wind gusts from 30-50 mph tomorrow.

Kentucky windage will come in handy for long shots.

Some people complain about the hot weather in the Texas winters..... some people complain about hunting in the heat in South Texas...while some complain about hunting in the heat and high winds at they head to the lease.....some people want free coffee and a donut... grin

Worst day hunting is better than the best day working. If you don’t believe me, just retire.

Dang it, I forgot to crank my tv antenna down on the rv when I left camp Wednesday. Guess I’ll see if it passes the stress test during this wind storm.

I'll deal with elements. You can have the donut.

Speaking of “elements”, where I’ll be bow hunting tomorrow it will hover at or below freezing ALL DAY.
Winds 21 to 25 ALL DAY.
I’ll be on stand ALL DAY.

Speaking of dead fish under the seat….
In the late 50s Daddy owned a little place on the San Gabriel between Georgetown and Mankins Crossing.
We deer hunted old man Fletchers on 29 the other way outa town. Well he came to our place and bought a cow from Daddy and I guess I didn’t like that. As they loaded the cow I put fresh eggs under the little pad thing, we all used to have, on his truck seat.
Didn’t go real well when he sat down.
Have I gotten off topic?

Donut holes are better. Hunting when the temp is around 40 to 60 is better. Being a grumpy old man makes me feel like a lot of you and that makes me feel better.

I stil remember when we tied the dead armadillo to the engine in Puffy's keep when he got drunk at the turkey hunting party. Cooked it while driving home the next day and "somehow" discovered it days later.

I am in this wind. Very persistent. Only one deer out. Sporting my high dollar Kryptec, I don’t think the deer will be very fearful.

Got 33 degrees on ya up here. Same wind. Do you have that headgear stapled on-it wouldnt stay on up here right now. This 80 acre wheat field averages about 60 deer and only 20ish today. They not liking the wind I guess.

Speaking of the wind and deer hunting, how has your success been hunting in a more than normal wind? I hunted in Kansas for several years and it did not seem to bother the deer there but high winds in NE texas shuts them down from my experience. How about your experience? Thanks Daniel

They have to be used to the wind in Kansas.

Nighty night boys.
