I would buy a full trap off the Classifieds here or Craigslist for 200-250 bucks. Or just build your own with a Hog panel and some Plywood.

I'd try it. I have a heavier, pre-fab one I bought that I haven't put out yet or I would order this one. I'd buy it quick if you're gonna be trapping. This looks like one of those products they try for a little bit and give up on 'cause they don't move as many units as soccer balls.

So this is an old school type trap where you have to be out there and pulling the 50' nylon rope to set; no thanks. I'd spend a little more for an auto spring activated type hog trap. I personally don't want to be within 50' of a loaded up feeder pen with 5-10 hogs stuffed in it at 1:00am.

It says the doors are spring activated, and it comes with a trigger stick and 50' of line. My interpretation is that you don't have to be present, just arrange the trigger cord so that the hogs will trip it eventually.

Had one of these on a home made trap we made. It was tripped almost every night - by RACCOONS - who would then just crawl out the panels.

I had that problem on a box trap I used. I set the trigger up about 20" off the ground so that piglets and raccoons wouldn't easily trip it.
