Finally have 90% strength back, still coughing though no fever.

But there is a huge side effect I never expected, lost all cravings for alcohol. I mean thinking of drinking a whiskey or beer sounds awful. I have been dry for over 14 days now. I have always been a heavy drinker ( 7-8 beers a night or whiskey in water for over 40 years) and now I believe I am done. No cravings, nothing. Met my brother last night at a local restaurant just to chat and he had a couple of beers and I just couldn't order one.

Crazy.

Same thing happened to me but with coffee. I was a 5 or 6 cups or more a day guy for years. Got COVID pretty good in June and couldn’t stand the thought of coffee any more. It’s 6 months later and I JUST started having a cup every other day or so.

I lost my taste for coffee. It tastes terrible.

I picked up hot tea in the mornings. I never liked hot tea in my life.

No alcohol issues.

Just got over the Wu-Flu myself.
Plain black coffee is just hot water. Add a little sugar, now it is sweet coffee. Coffee flavor is there.
Had lunch with my brother today, no beer for me. Just didnt sound good.
So far, cant stand ketchup or mayo, mustard is ok.
Few other foods taste differently as well.

Had it before early in 2020. Just tested positive again on Sunday. Felt like I went 12 rounds with Butterbean for 2 days. Now I'm getting my strength back and just lost taste/smell yesterday. That didn't happen the first time. Weird for sure. I can distinguish salty, sweet, and sour but nothing else. Can't smell anything. I told my wife to stop buying good food and find some kind of "nutrition loaf" or something. Just consuming calories at this point.

Should give me an immunity boost for a couple more years if the trend holds.

I’ve had covid twice.

First time lost sense of taste and smell and I took quite some time.

Second time it was insomnia for about a week. I had a very hard time going to sleep and once asleep, I woke up multiple times during the night.

I'm much like you and drank most nights, although maybe not quite as much. I had it back in late August/early September and literally had zero desire to drink for at least a full month to 40 days as I went through it and recovered. I also was a dipper and had zero desire for that. Once I got my full strength back, I got back to my normal routine and back to drinking as usual, though not to extreme. My guess is it will be the same for you. The upside for me was when I lost my craving for snuff, I just figured it was as good a time as any to quit since I went a month without and that's the worst part. And I haven't had a dip since late August.

Good for you! Think of all the money you will save that you can spend on hunting stuff now. Not to mention how much your body will thank you up

This was both mine and my wifes symptoms. Mine worse than hers but no smell or taste for at least 6 weeks and now 4 months later I've got about 70 percent back. But the worse was the horrible insomnia for about a month, but the insomnia didn't start till about 4 weeks after we were over covid. Weird stuff.

My tenant got Covid before moving in. He was a smoker for years, said he now can’t stand even the idea of a cigarette. At least Covid had a positive change for him

I kinda hate to admit it but I think it screwed up my lungs/breathing. I get short of breath walking from one room to next. Hate to play into the hype but not sure what else it could be

Second time I "lost" my taste and smell for about a 3 weeks. I used quotes because it was actually worse than losing it, indoors smelled like cigarettes and outdoors smelled like a trash dump. Both smells were about a 7 on a power scale of 1-10.

I’m on day 4 of the wuflu, and my coffee craving is gone, I sure hope it comes back. The wife asked what I wanted for supper, I said he77 it don’t matter, I can’t taste it anyway. Grilled cheese sandwich and soup is what I got, it was like eating an unsalted cracker and hot water. I did go out and walked a mile or so in the pasture looking at all the deer tracks and stuff. It sure felt like I ran a marathon.

It did mine for about 6 weeks. And then one day it was 100% better like a light switch.
