Looked on AmmoSeek today and the prices for all types of ammo especially 6.5 Grendel are climbing fast.

Hornady Black has gone from 1.50 to 1.90 per round in the last month.

Crazy times with massive inflation. Hope all of you have stocked up.

That's interesting. I check every few days for components I want and usually the same vendors have the same stuff at the same price. Example, I search for small pistol under primers and see the same thing every time. Shaw Arms has had CCI 500 at $150/1000 for several months.

They are a big box store so they are going to be full retail.

Prices went up considerably in the fall of 2021 on many of the hunting rounds that I shoot. Dove loads also increased by significant amounts.

A year ago, prices were double and triple that for 6.5 Grendel.

Yesterday, there were a couple of listings for $1.50 a round from ELD-M. Right now, what is left starts at 1.80. Check often and buy when you see it low.

Today ELD Match 123 grain is 1.85 plus $16.00 shipping total cost now is $2.65 per round. Insane dead_horse

Remington 6.8 spc is now running $1.15 plus 16.00 for shipping total cost $1.95 per round Hornady is $1.55 plus shipping.

Maybe I need to change caliber for alternative?

Academy continues to be my benchmark for the best price. When I see a box somewhere else, I'll check the price on the Academy website before deciding how much more I want to pay.

Saw a box yesterday for $28.99 that Academy sells for $18.99. Needless to say, I left it sitting on the shelf.

I sold my 6.5G rifle but buyer did not want to buy the ammo. I have a plethora of Hornady Black that I may put in the trading post...well, maybe not. Nothing but a bunch of whiners and complainers hang out there.

How much do you shoot? I plink a lot with a 22, 9mm and 5.56 but other calibers I use primarily for hunting and just don't shoot them that much. I would guess the average Hunter shoots less than 2 boxes per year of their high powered rifle rounds. At 40 cents per round that is $16.00. Relative to the cost of everything else involved in this game who cares? Even if you shot 1,000 rounds a year that is only $400 more. With what everything else costs - land, lease, corn, trucks, atvs, etc ammo prices aren't even a concern for me.

I just picked up a 6.5 Grendel. If you want to part with some of that ammo, message me. I’m just down the road from you towards Lewisville. Going to mount my thermal on it for a go to hog rifle.

For the last 2 years, I've been able to get in just enough components to keep ammo production going strong. I've been speaking to Hodgdon, and several other main suppliers about powder, primers, brass and bullets. I haven't really been that nervous about supplies....until last week. Multiple suppliers are changing up how you order their products. And they are not even taking orders for them. Everyone has been hammered for the last 2 years, and ammo components seem to be even harder to get right now. I've never seen this kind of demand and shortage of materials. There are some Hornady and Nosler items I have not seen in over 2 years. At some point, it HAS to loosen up.

Problem comes when you really need it. I am taking a group of church kids and their dads on mld doe patrol and needed .243. I went to 5 or 6 different stores for 2 weeks looking and finally gave up and bought from one the guys on here. I am pretty sure it is someone who sits at Academy waiting on the truck, buys all they can and tries to almost double the cost selling on here. I hate it but I feel like I have to teach the kids to shoot a little before they try to kill a deer. It seems .308 and .223 have been widely available but at a slightly elevated price. Anyway, vote and pray, especially pray!!!

I don't believe the reselling is as bad right now as it was in the past. I've never bought more than a couple of boxes at once and the vast majority of the time I picked up just one. However, I've been buying it in this manner for several years whenever I happened across it with the belief it will never get any cheaper. Not sure we'll ever see the day again when you can go to the store on any given day and find what you need.

Never resold any but did trade four boxes that didn't shoot well in my rifles for other loads that do. I remember thinking at the time that trading ammo might be more common than I thought.

I went to academy today and they had more ammo on the shelf than I have seen since the plandemic started. They had 308 ELD-X, 270, 30-06, gobs of 223, 9, 45, you name it. They had a four box limit.

Can't remember the last time I went to the store to buy ammo. Maybe 2014?

Pass the gravy.

The one round that I am running short on that I can't seem to find on shelves is 22-250. I still have 50 rounds or so, but it's just not a round that seems to be readily available. Every big box retailer always seems to have a TON of .308, not sure why there is so much of that always available.

Yep I have seen the same EXCEPT for .243 and 22-250.

Seems like it’s finally getting back to normal ish… academy and bass pro are usually at least partially stocked now whenever I’m in. Bone dry during peak covid

That's flat out stealing mad
I guess the 140 GR. 1000 ELDM bullets I came across last year are pretty pricey today.
