Statement form the Sheriff's Office.

"Earlier today, deputies were called to the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes for a call about an unresponsive man in a hotel room. The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case."

read he was a REAL character. Nothing compared to his on screen persona.

His stand-up was anything but G-rated.

Not sure why ABC thought his passing was newsworthy enough to break into regular programming. I can only speculate it was because he was the first host of America's Funniest Home Videos that was airing at the time.

That's brilliant.

He had scleroderma. His sister is already dead from it too. It's an autoimmune disorder that destroys a persons organs and there is no cure.

Joe Rogan had him on the podcast, if you’d like to see it. He was entertaining.

Bob came to Paris in 2000 my senior year to film my family and siblings for a tv pilot that never aired.
It was to be called Sleepover with Bob. He slept in my sisters bed for a few nights and we ran around with him and the crew for a weekend. I got some personal time with him and we talked quite a bit. He was very accomplished at that time. He was going through a divorce at the time and we talked about life in general. He had just lost his sister to Scleroderma and it’s effect on his life. I remember he liked the band Garbage. I taught him to drive a tractor. I have pictures somewhere of one of the film crew sitting on the front weights holding the camera while I walked beside him driving. This picture has been in my old Pontiac Bonneville that we rode around in that weekend and they setup cameras and lights all in it. We had a great time. It’s been outside in the elements for 12 years and I just took this out from under the visor a few weeks ago.
He will be greatly missed. Glad I got to meet him.
Rest In Peace.

I never much got into his claim to fame, Full House but I understand he really tried to separate that role from his standup comedy routine. Understand he was quite entertaining doing comedy.

Wow, no need to even do an autopsy now. You can just phone it in.

I've read his stand up act was pretty raunchy...a complete 360 from his TV persona.
