I never understood the appeal of Deanie's. I tried it twice, both times were mediocre. Deanie's in Metairie is a dump, the one in the Quarter is much nicer. They have THE best BBQ Shrimp in the city. All their fried food is average. Hopedale didn't list Mother's, it's an awesome lunch spot to eat at on your way to the WWII museum. Charlie

Had the best fried Oyster Po Boy on two different trips there. While standing in line all of the food looked good especially a plate of Fried Chicken I saw

Mother's does make some fine sandwiches.

For the best seafood cruise the canal roads in Kenner, out by the airport. Just look for a little Morgan building with a "Seafood" sign out front. I love New Orleans on St. Patrick's Day. It's like a mini Mardi Gras without all the tourists.

It's like a mini Mardi Gras without all the tourists. One of my favorite places is like that in Kenner. I’ve been going there since about 1990. It’s really good and packed with locals. We’ve gone a number of times this trip. Our last vacay dinner tomorrow night will be here. Harbor Seafood & Oyster Bar https://www.harborseafoodandoysterbar.com/Wife took these pics a few days ago.
