Has anyone been to cabelas in buda lately? what does their on the shelf stock look like? any other place in particulate for mail order or san antonio area that has had any decent supply of hunting rifle ammo??
I made it thru this season without really having to buy any, but next season is going to be real tight. Figured i'd better start looking.
my local academy and walmart type places haven't had a lot of anything that i usually look for.

Pro tip, don't go when everybody else goes
If you're there after 3, the good stuff is gone

Thanks for the info. I've tried nagels and found some .243 to get me thru for a while.

It seems that Cabelas/Scheels/Academy/BassPro here in DFW are stocking some common rifle cartridges in unfavorable bullets. Ive seen alot of 308 300 win mag 6.5 and 223/5.56 out the butt

I'm in Buda Cabela's almost daily hoping to score powder or primers. They do keep plenty of .223/5.56, 9mm, .308, .22 pretty steady, but yeah, other hunting stuff rotates and you have to be lucky I think. Powder comes and goes quickly, high-priced primers a little slower. Black powder with all the sides looks way better off now though- I've got a Lyman .54 cal trade rifle I might put to use in future. Pretty soon it'll be like Norm walking in to Cheers when I come through the door there.

6.5 Grendel is hard to come by right now. Found some, but wasn’t happy with the price I had to pay.

6.5 Grendal as well as .38 Special and .357 Magnum are for reloaders really.
Pass the gravy.

But, but Nagels does have some value. They do gets somes nice stuff in there. Paid $450 for my Beretta side by side. All that high dollar stuff (Filson, Browning & such) never seems to get sold and when they have a sale, they really have a real sale. In addition, their discounted racks in the back room always have something of interest.
For ammo, Ammoseek.
