My father in law has one. Used it to haul a few loads of fill in a 7000 lb gvw dump trailer. He has no respect for equipment his own or anyone else’s, it broke the tires loose in first and chirped second loaded lol that poor truck.

I still have my 2015 ecodiesel with close to 120k on it and still love it, but I like the baby duramax better, sucker for an in line motor.

Congratulations. Looks nice. I think we have decided to buy a new or near new truck this year. Have not decided which make and model, but I will definitely have to look into the Duramax. I have just about driven the wheels off my 99 Suburban.

We aren't seeing these in for diesel related issues. That's a good sign.

My dad has the previous generation 1500 with a 6.2 gas with the "standard" 6.5" bed and tows a 12500 pound 5th wheel with no issues so the half tons have been over-built a while.

Now that is putting a half ton to work. Not sure I'd put that kind of hitch load over a half ton axle. If that trailer weighs 12,500 I'd assume it's hitch weight to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 2k-2500 lbs.

Man the used truck market right now is absolutely ridiculous. They had a 2018 F250 Lariat 4x4 diesel with 90k miles at the lot when I bought mine. I asked him how much because it was a very, very nice looking truck. He said they had it for 72k but he would sell it to me for 68k.
I mean they gave me 31,500 for my 2018 half ton 5.3L Chevy LT with 89k miles on it. It is crazy as hell.

edit: And those suburbans are great vehicles. My boss has a 2000 model he bought new that is approaching 400k miles and still looks and runs great. It was the loaded model back then and he told me they paid around 30k for it new. lol

I'm seeing the same thing on used vehicles. I just turned 173K on my truck. I don't want to go buy a new truck right now, but I'm tempted to order one thru X-plan pricing and trade mine while they will give me what I consider stupid money for a truck this used.

I think that would be a good move if you can order one for a decent price and get it at MSRP or below. Hell, we all know MSRP means Manufacturer 'Suggested' Retail Price which doesn't have a damn thing to do with what the dealer's actual cost is so even at that price they are still making a damn good amount of profit. lol The problem is that the dealerships cannot get the volume in like they used to so they want to make a hell of a lot more per unit to make up the difference. They are damn sure not going to starve to death either way.

Add me to the list of folks that love their 3.0 diesel! Bought my new GMC Sierra Elevation 4x4 new in August of 2020 and have 32k miles on it today. My lifetime average since pulling off the dealer lot is 21.8 and that is with a fair amount of towing my kubota L6040 tractor around. I get 17-19mpg towing that beast, about 24 city and 28+ highway. Most of my highway driving is at 80mph and i have seen over 30mpg down around 65mph cruising.

Congrats on the new truck! Does your 2022 have the new front end? I thought Chevy and GMC were supposed to have new body styles and interiors for 2022 and not released until March.

front end is definitely different than the 18' I had.

I haven't seen anything on it, but I wonder if they will do the same thing they did in 99 and offer two different body styles. When I bought my 99 you could get the new style or classic body style and both were 99 year models.

This body style was new for 2019 completely inside and out, under the hood, frame, suspension, all of it. 2022 is kinda soon to redo the exterior and interior. By March, the 2023's will be close to introduction.

My neighbor has been trying to find a dealer to honor the x-plan for a year. He gave up a while back and just going to wait it out.

Did they ever change the design on the timing belt deal they had. It (2020) had or has a rubber timing belt that ran in oil. Friend had one and they recommended the belt inspection and they had to drop trans to check. Cost Him 1500 bucks to tell Him it was okay. He blew a gaskit and asked them why if they had it apart Put a new one on.

It is the same but the recommended service interval is 150,000 miles and the engineers have stated that while they recommend changing at 150k it should last twice that.

Personally I don't care I have never kept a vehicle that long in my life. I get bored and get something different every 3-4 years.

Yeah remember something happened to His at 75,000 miles or 80,000 miles and didn't have the extended warranty. He loved it until then. Traded it in on a Dodge.

Those aren't new. They just have very small changes to the grille and headlights. It's not a new body style, just minor updates. Generally these will just be option content changes until the entire line makes a switch over.

The interior is very much new.

The 10” longer bed would allow for bigger stacks through the bed
