The front end just doesn’t work
Like you know on Netflix when the words don’t sync with the mouths? Like it looks like that
Or someone was drawing a ridgeline and heard “donuts in the break room!” And lifted their head away and started to leave the room while still drawing
Or 2 people were drawing 2 different grilles and because participation awards are a thing these days they used both
Car guy. Serial entrepreneur. Terrible golfer.

The bigger concern than looks is, will it get my family of 4 with 2 dogs in the back, a weeks worth of clean clothes and provisions, while pulling my little 10 foot trailer loaded with all my tools and say 800 lbs of other stuff 150 miles down the highway at 70mph? My Silverado with a 6 banger does, and I'm not looking to downgrade.

Yes, it's ugly, but in my opinion, they've been ugly for the last 20 years. To me, my truck is like my great grandpa's mule. Who cares what it looks like, "can it work" is what matters.

I’ve liked the progression of the GMC front ends the last few years over the Chevy. Have had a 2013 Silverado, 2017 Sierra, and now a 2021 Sierra and I just love their looks. Unfortunately for me I drive too much for electric vehicles. In a ‘normal’ year I’m running about 40K miles/year…a typical Monday for me can start the week off with a 500-700 mile drive to get to a hotel and change/wash up and then drive straight to a dinner and kick off the next day with driving down the road for the same. But fortunately I don’t pay for my gas, so I can’t really complain too much

No real pricing available, but indicates initial fully loaded price will be over $100k. Will obviously come down in price without all options, but still looks to be very expensive and certainly limiting in terms of range.

They are relaunching that thing the right way

Yeah the front is ugly but I could put some lipstick on that pig. A ranch hand would cure the looks of the front end. Kinda like a woman changing her looks with aftermarket parts. Being this is a hunting forum though, that e-truck would kill the annual hunting road trips I take with the current range and charge limitations. Between work and recreation I put 50-60k a year on a truck. Having to drive an electric would put me out of business. Hard pass for me.

And most of y'all don't have to work on them... I was an L1 master tech up until a few years ago. Have built anything from 1930’s Concorse Buicks to Lambos to being (at the time) 1 of about 14 folks in the world to fully rebuild a 1970’s Aston Martin LaGonda. I’m happy I still have the skill set but not wrenching everyday. I have some old projects I enjoy working on now…though I find I sound like my dad when I do work on my mother in law’s car with all these “GD electronics!!!”
