Since Oklahoma is basically north Texas here are a few hunts from the last cold front… some were more awesome than others and the last day we got lazy on the scout.

As expected, few birds on the tanks. No feeding birds and all winter residents. Mostly teal. I haven't scouted the lakes lately.

No matter how high a duck flies a hammer still breaks a window.

I ended up having to chase it down in the boat! But when your fighting the skunk a man will spend ten dollars in shells to finish off the lone duck you got within 40 yards...

I laughed because I’ve been there. I’m sure a lot of us have!

Not a whole lot flying this morning and not much shooting, although I dont think alot of people ventured out this morning. I assume the ducks got down quick and held tight this morning with as cold and windy it was. Got 2 teal a gadwall and wigeon.

Had 30 minutes or so of ducks and that was it. They all wanted the decoys on a small ranch tank but they weren’t flying very long. It was pretty dang cold.

Yesterday was the most birds I’ve seen on our farm in the 2 years we’ve owned it. Had some wood ducks early then it was mallard after mallard. Wish we would’ve held off on the woodys early. Could’ve easily put 2 more green heads on that strap.

Wife finally got her first mallard. And not a water swat either! Very proud of her. She loves duck hunting and would have to to hunt in those conditions. Wind 20 out of the NW with snow. Duck weather no doubt!

Yep, always glad to get out. I'm not complaining about a slow morning or season. I never mind a slow hunt and it doesn't take a pile of birds to make me happy. Just reporting what I'm seeing.
