The first one's will be for what ever you can get them for. MSRP shows 699 but I'm pretty sure you won't find one for that just yet. Bunch of folks scrabbling for first run low serial numbers. Probably be a good investment.

Fair enough. I have no plans of acquiring that taste. My favorite handgun is my Colt 1911

James has a thing against 1911s. He is cocky but amusing. I believe he claims to be Keanu Reeves cousin.

Now I want one too except I'm not a Springfield fan and not sure I have ever or will ever own one. Yeah, maybe in a few years when they come back down to Earth.

What's going to be interesting is what the custom shops do with this one, what a great platform to work with. Most of the shooting reviews I've seen so far has the pistol consistently shooting sub inch and half at 25 yards with a wide variety of ammo. The fact that most if not all of the parts are interchangeable with all factory Hi-Power spec parts means many kits are already available.

For those not familiar with Hi-Powers they only had one rather non redeeming feature that most complained about but in my opinion it was a big one. The magazine disconnect was feature nobody liked. Not only did it effect the speed and handling of the pistol but also the trigger pull itself. Those of us who shot HP's would remove that assembly immediately eliminating two problems instantly giving you a much better trigger and free falling mag's. With the new mag's being 15 round instead of the standard 13 we have another plus, especially since it didn't change the dimensions of the original mag size making it interchangeable with all HP mags. Hell even the grips interchange with old HP's! With a forged frame and slide tighter factory tolerances and a better factory trigger to start off with they have a real winner. Expect to see this pistol in the competition circuit real quick. I've got some parts and kit's left over from old pistol projects and I still have an old Barstow barrel that's seen very little use. I bet it will get under 1 inch at 25 rather easily, a serious custom shop will get it cutting one ragged hole. I've now placed two orders in so one will be kept stock and the other I'm going to play with, might send it to NOVAK and let them work their magic if my old parts don't work. One feature I wish they offered right of the bat is adjustable sights, I'm pretty picky about where I want my pistols printing at 25 yards.

All but one of mine are pre 1983 with some much older. I've only bought one new one and it was a 40 call that I sent to NOVAC and it came back chambered in 357 SIG. Been collecting them for decades but this will only be my second new purchase.

I wonder when a regular guy will be able to get one? I want one bad!

I’m gonna wait a couple years but also want to pick one up. Never been a fan of 9mm but I like this one.

I tried to scrounge one up maybe order one and no one will “order” or preorder one most shops cited they don’t know what the price will be.

It’s sad these are gonna be gouge prices if you find one

Depends on where you find it as for the price. Riflegear in Plano says the MSRP and their price is $699. At that price, it's a steal. Now - how long until we can find it in stock at that price is the question.

Absolutely want one myself. Shot a buddy's Browning and loved it, but just too much cash for those and they are hard to find.

Same here, would have bought it post haste.

It is on my bucket list, but not going to pay around the 1K mark for one just yet.

I saw this and thought I would share. Listed as retail with free ship. The wait could be long but if you’re not “In line” you won’t have this as an option or price.

you must not have a single bit of knowledge about Reeves then.....

As for this SA Hi Power....it is a clean, well made, improved shooter....I have one on the way after shooting a friends for a couple of hundred rounds....is it perfect? No...it needs a little extractor/channel clean up and a better spring....a little polish here and there. It is better than worrying about having my heirloom riding around in my pants...I have carried this one almost daily since 1988....it has been freshly rebuilt by the folks at Night Hawk Ind. It's Nighthawk's copy of a Garthwaite straight trigger or they had some stashed before he died...uncertain
