I wanted to take my niece hunting next weekend. She is 17. I was wondering if she could participate in youth for whitetail or doe or spike only. Only thing I could find was all about waterfowl. Thank for y’all’s help

Depending on the county, you may be able to put a muzzleloader in her hands.
It for sure is 16 and below is youth and 17 is adult. My son is 17 and we just figured this out. Why on earth it couldn’t be 18 like everything else who knows. Maybe TPW wanted their money one year sooner.

18 is not like everything else. 17 is an adult in the entire penal code.
Sorry I don’t have much experience with the penal code. I have just always assumed 18 was an adult. It is the age you can vote, enter casinos, work anywhere pretty much, buy tobacco ( I think this recently changed to 21), join the military on your own, etc.

Yes but for hunting licenses most states have 17 as the cutoff year for youth. Wyoming and Colorado are 17 and under for youth. Why relate his question to the penal code when he's talking about hunting?
