Is the barrel too thin to thread?
Or is it fine..factory out of the box rifle
Just got one a few weeks ago
No experience in Tikkas or threading or suppressors
But I plan to put a can on this one, if I can

You can thread it 1/2x28 and be fine, especially if you cut down the barrel to 20" or so. This pitch would work fine even at factory barrel lengths.

Thanks, friend of mine had me worried w…awfully thin barrel talk
I think I know a guy locally that can cut and thread
Surely if it can be done, it’s been done I would think

https://thunderbeastarms.com/tech/thread-specificationsIt can be done, will it negatively effect accuracy? I’m not the guy that suggests hanging a pound off of a thin barrel but to each their own.

I’ve had a few t3 lites threaded 1/2-28” at 16.5-18” barrel lengths. But only in 223 and 243 bore sizes so far with no issues whatsoever.. I wouldn’t be afraid to do a 6.5 bore either, but I probably wouldn’t do a .30 cal because muzzle walls are getting pretty thin with 1/2” threads. This is just personal opinion, others will say 1/2 threads with .30 is ok.
Accuracy has been good, but the can I run on these rifles is 6” long and only 11oz. Like Judd said hanging a heavy can on a thin barrel may not be ideal.

Won't make any difference. A couple of buds around here have done them with no issues. It's not a "thin" barrel in comparison to many mountain rifle types.

Morgan has done 2 T3Xs for me. Cut my 22-250 down to 17" and threaded 1/2" and then screwed on a 1/2" to 5/8" adapter for my suppressor. Did the same with my 270. He also did my Sako Finnlight 243. I've got no regrets at all and can't tell accuracy dropped off, may have gotten better if anything.

I had my .308 cut to 18” and threaded to 9/16”, but YHM no longer has the QD in 9/16” so just forget this post.

You can find threaded factory barrels that are new take offs on ebay for under $200.
Trolling? Heck no, I meant every word of it.
