I have a scope that is bottoming out. I’ve changed rings, and mount. But medium rings and my scope has plenty clearance. Is it an issue between the length of distance between rings?

Does the scope have a zero stop? If so, is it backed all the way down?

Burris XTR rings allow you to customize your setup by adding or deleting MOA. I put a 40 MOA rail on a .22 and found I couldn't get my 0 at 50 yards, the XTR rings allowed me to ‘deduct’ 10 MOA, giving me almost all the travel it offers.

I had a customer service rep. at Leupold tell me to try this ..... run the adjustment all the way in one direction till it stops . Then go all the way back the other way while counting the clicks . Then go half way back. This will center the adjustments . Do this on the horizontal and vertical adjustments. According to him if a scope gets moved from gun to gun you can run out of adjustments. He said they do this before a scope leaves out after repairs.

You can center a heck of a lot faster using your bathroom mirror.

Lowest power setting, shortest parralax setting while looking thru the scope, overlay the 2 images. You can move your head side to side and up and down to verify image is centered. Zero turrets and rock on.

I have never heard of this and is great information. How accurate (or close to the actual center) can you get doing it this way?

Perfectly centered, I do it with every scope I buy.

Glad to hear there’s another way. Counting the clicks is a royal pain.
