20% is standard for me and it can be adjusted up or down based on service. And no, I don’t tip for takeout unless they bring it to the car.

The nature of the job itself requires it, and yes, I'm sure there are some here who take it to another level.

I can't get on board with someone having to cater to every whim and be the subject of a myriad of BS complaints just to earn a decent wage. Gratuity shouldn't be a factor in the dining experience or at the very least, shouldn't be considered as part of the minimum wage someone makes. I'm not special, you're not special, so there's no reason someone should have to be in a position to directly influence someone's pay.

There's a small Italian place (Crudo) by me in Frisco and we are there just about once a week. The food is awesome, the drinks are strong and the service is first rate. Servers and bartenders are tipped very well. I can't say this is true for other places we go.
